When is the limit on outgoing SMS messages being applied?
The limit on the number of SMS messages that can be sent daily will take effect from 31 March 2024.
Why is this limit being introduced?
In view of the rise in SMS spamming and scam incidents coming from mobile lines, it is necessary to introduce measures to protect the general public. Hence, StarHub is implementing a cap on the number of SMS messages that can be sent per day in compliance with the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA) directives.
What is the limit for SMS messages that can be sent per day?
This limit is set at 300 outgoing SMS messages per day.
Does the limit apply to all types of StarHub Enterprise mobile lines (StarHub Postpaid)?
This limit applies to all types of StarHub Enterprise mobile lines (StarHub Postpaid).
What will happen if I reach the limit of 300 SMS sends in a day?
Upon reaching your daily SMS limit, you’ll receive an SMS notification from us. SMS messages beyond the limit will not be delivered. You can choose to resend any unsent SMS messages once your daily limit resets at midnight (00:00 hours).
Does this limit also apply to incoming SMS messages?
There’s no limit to the number of SMS messages you can receive.
Does this limit also apply to global outgoing SMS messages?
This limit applies to all outgoing SMS, including local, global and outgoing SMS messages sent while roaming.
