What is a mobile eSIM?

A mobile eSIM is a digital SIM that stores the data required to enable your device to use the StarHub network, just like a physical SIM card. The only difference is, eSIM does not need to be physically inserted into your device; it can be simply downloaded via a QR code for use.

What devices are StarHub mobile eSIM-supported?

StarHub mobile eSIM is supported on various iOS and Android devices. For the full list of eSIM supported devices, please visit the eSIM Supported Devices page.

We will progressively expand this list with more eSIM-supported devices. Similar to a physical SIM card, the eSIM will only support 1 device and 1 mobile number.

Can the eSIM be used for dual-SIM devices?

Dual SIM refers to the use of 2 SIM cards in 1 device. eSIM can be used as one of the SIM cards if the device is compatible.

Am I eligible to subscribe to mobile eSIM?

You can request for the mobile eSIM when you sign up for our Enterprise and SME Mobile plans.

For Enterprise customers: Authorised Officers can check with their StarHub Client Manager, call 1800 888 8282, or submit an enquiry via our webform to find out more.

For SME customers: Please contact the sales team via email at sme@starhub.com for more details.

What are the charges for mobile eSIM?

Mobile eSIM is free of charge for up to 5 downloads. Subsequently, $10.90 will be charged per download.

Where do I get the QR code to download my eSIM?

You should have received in your registered email a QR code from donotreply@starhub.com (Email subject: StarHub Mobile eSIM Registration) to download the eSIM. If you have yet to receive the QR code, please approach your company’s Authorised Officer to send you a copy.

How do I set up my eSIM on my iOS device?

Make sure you are connected to either WiFi or cellular data, then follow the steps below.

  1. On your device, go to Settings > Mobile Service > Add eSIM.

  2. Scan the QR code mentioned in Q1. Alternatively, you can also enter the manual setup information found in the same email.

  3. Either select an existing or create a custom data plan label.

How do I set up my eSIM on my Android device?

Make sure you are connected to either WiFi or cellular data, then follow the steps below.

  1. Go to Settings > Connections.

  4. Select Confirm > StarHub (Postpaid).

I am unable to find my eSIM QR code email. How can I request another email to be sent to me?

The QR code will be sent by donotreply@starhub.com, with an email subject “StarHub Mobile eSIM registration”, to the registered email address stated in the eSIM request. Please approach your company’s Authorised Officer to send you a copy via My Business Account (MBA) portal.


Note: The eSIM QR code is free of charge for the first 5 downloads.

An eSIM download fee of $10.90 will be applicable for each QR code requested thereafter.

What should I do if I fail to install the eSIM?
  • Ensure your device has stable internet connection via cellular or WIFI network.
  • Ensure your device is eSIM compatible.
  • Ensure that you have successfully activate the eSIM.
  • Ensure that you have not previously installed the same eSIM on another device.

Why can't I see the QR code in my email?
  • Please check the settings of your email account and ensure that displaying external images is enabled.
  • Alternatively, you may enter the eSIM details manually by copying and pasting the relevant texts available in your email:
    • SMDP+ Address
    • Activation Code

      eSIM Activation Code

How can I retrieve the eSIM QR code via My Business Account (MBA) portal?

Retrieving the eSIM QR code via My Business Account (MBA) portal can only be done by your company’s Authorised Officer. Please note that the QR code can only be retrieved via MBA if the eSIM has not yet been activated.

  1. Go to SIM Management.

  2. Select SIM Request > Request SIM Type: eSIM.

  3. Select the relevant mobile line and enter the email address that you wish to receive the QR code.

  4. If you need to re-send the email, go to SIM Management > SIM Activation, select the relevant mobile line, and click on Re-send Email

  5. On the same page, click Activate Now.

  6. Confirm activation of the eSIM, and the eSIM QR is ready to be scanned for setup. Refer to the email from donotreply@starhub.com, subject “StarHub Mobile eSIM Registration”.

Can the eSIM QR code be reused?

No. Once scanned, the QR code will be considered as used, and each QR code can only be used once. If necessary, you may request another copy of the QR code from your company’s Authorised Officer.

How can I convert my current physical SIM card to an eSIM?

Do check with your company’s Authorised Officer if you are eligible for an eSIM. If eligible, your Authorised Officer will be able to make an eSIM request via My Business Account (MBA) portal.

I am changing to a new device. How can I transfer my eSIM to the new device?

You will need to set up your eSIM in the new device. Approach your company’s Authorised Officer to request a copy of your eSIM QR code to start setting up.

I accidentally deleted my eSIM from my device. How can I recover it?

Approach your company’s Authorised Officer to request another copy of your eSIM QR code and set up the eSIM in your device again.

I scanned my eSIM QR code on a wrong device. What should I do?

Delete your eSIM from the wrong device. Then approach your company’s Authorised Officer to request another copy of your eSIM QR code and set up the eSIM in the correct device.

I changed my mobile number. Do I need to set up another mobile eSIM?

No additional setup will be required as the new mobile number will be assigned to your existing mobile eSIM, automatically replacing the old mobile number.

I lost the device with my eSIM. What should I do?

Similar to losing a physical SIM card, you can request to have your line suspended temporarily. Then, you can get a new eSIM profile for your new device, and the old profile will no longer be in use.

How do I change to a physical SIM card if I do not want to use an eSIM anymore?

You can approach your company’s Authorised Officer (AO) to request a replacement SIM card.
