What is International Roaming?
Our International Roaming service allows you to use your mobile number to make and receive calls in countries or destinations while you are overseas.
Who can sign up for international roaming service?
International Roaming service is available for postpaid mobile subscribers, who are Singaporeans and/or foreign pass holders aged 21 years old and above.
A local sponsor is required for applicants a) below 21 years of age and/or b) holding S Pass, WP, Student Pass, DEP / LTVP / LTVP (+).
How do I turn international roaming on/off?
You can turn your international roaming on/off via StarHub App.
To activate:
Log in, tap "Mobile", choose the mobile number that you want to have roaming service, and tap on "Add-ons".
Select "Roaming" and tap "Explore", then tap "Activate roaming service". Choose "International roaming", tap "Next" then confirm.
To deactivate:
Log in, tap "Mobile", choose the mobile number that you want to have the roaming service removed, and tap on "Add-ons".
Select "Roaming" and tap "Manage", then tap "Modify". Tap "Unsubscribe" then confirm.
Is Caller Number Display still available while roaming?
No, Caller Number Display is available only when you are in Singapore.
How can I ensure that I am connected to an overseas operator when roaming?
When roaming, your mobile phone will search for the strongest signal in that area to be connected to. However, in cases that you are not automatically connected to the overseas network, you can do a manual selection of the overseas network on your mobile phone. Visit this page to find out more.
How do I avoid being connected to an overseas network when I am in Singapore?
This can be avoided by manually selecting StarHub network under on your mobile devices.
How do I know if my phone has logged onto a foreign network?
Your phone will display the name of the foreign network if it has logged onto one. The display will vary from phone to phone. The network name will be displayed in one of the following forms.
- "StarHub <Foreign Network>", example "StarHub DiGi"
- "StarHub <Foreign Network>", example "StarHub-DiGi"
- Sequential display of "StarHub" & "Foreign network", example "StarHub" then "DiGi"
- "Foreign network", example "DiGi"
I have subscribed to the roaming service. Why can't I make outgoing calls?
The network coverage in that area may be weak, so try moving to another area with a stronger signal. Alternatively, you can do a manual selection of the overseas network on your mobile phone. Visit this page to find out more.
Will I be able to send and receive SMS while roaming?
Yes, as long as the overseas network you are connected to supports this function, you may send or receive text messages.
What are the roaming charges for receiving or making a call while overseas?
With StarHub's simplified flat roaming rate, you'll only need to pay a single roaming charge within the country regardless of the operator you're logged on to.

What happens if I use roaming data in a country that is not supported by any roaming data plan?
If there's no suitable roaming data plan for the location you're visiting, pay-per-use charges of $21/MB will apply if you use roaming data.

I do not want to incur accidental data roaming charges. What do I need to do to use roaming voice and SMS services only?
Before leaving Singapore, please double-check if the country you're visiting is supported by any of our roaming data plans. If not, make sure to turn OFF "Mobile data" and "Data when roaming" on your phone before you arrive at your destination.

How do I turn On/Off data roaming for my device?
For Android users:
Please go to Settings > Connections on your device and follow the below steps.
How do I ensure that I successfully turn on/off data roaming?
You will see the toggle turned on in your Data Roaming settings.
If data roaming setting is switched on/off from mobile device settings, will customer be able to enable/disable data roam via StarHub App?
No, customers will be only able to subscribe and activate the data plans via StarHub App.
Customer activated data roaming Cap @$100, will it affect the option to enable/disable via StarHub App?
Yes, if customer reaches to data roaming Cap @$100 limit, data roaming will be suspended.
Will data roaming be automatically enabled if I activate DataTravel Asia-Pacific/Global/Everywhere plans?
You will need to activate your Roaming via mobile device setting as well in order to use data roaming when you activate DataTravel Asia-Pacific/Global/Everywhere.
Is there a prompt to advise status of data roaming if it was disabled when I activate a DataTravel Asia-Pacific/Global/Everywhere plan(s)?
No. There will not be prompt to advise the status of data roaming when you activate a DataTravel Asia-Pacific/Global/Everywhere plan(s).
I am already overseas, and I am unable to use mobile data roaming. So how can I use StarHub App to toggle data roaming on/off if the data roaming status is already disabled?
You may use the channels below to quickly toggle data roaming on/off:

What is 5G Roaming?
Customers can now experience seamless, ultra-fast speed and connectivity whether they are making video calls to their friends and family back home, navigating for directions through online maps or even sharing their travelogue on social media with 5G roaming. StarHub Mobile Postpaid customers on our Mobile+ plans holding on to a 5G ready device will be able to roam and enjoy the 5G experience on selected roaming operators that support 5G.
Who can sign up for 5G Roaming?
StarHub Mobile Postpaid customers on our Mobile+ plan with a 5G ready device can enjoy 5G roaming at selected destinations and mobile network operator.
How can I sign up and how much do I need to pay for 5G Roaming?
Mobile Postpaid customers can activate StarHub DataTravel from as low as $6 to start enjoying 5G roaming in supported destinations. Not to worry, there'll be no extra charges for 5G access!

What is 4G Roaming?
4G Roaming offers customers with faster data roam speed than 3G Roaming. StarHub postpaid mobile customers who are enjoy 4G on StarHub’s 4G Network will be able to roam and enjoy 4G experience on selected roaming operators that support 4G.
How can I enjoy 4G Roaming?
You need to use a 4G mobile device (handset/dongle/tablet), subscribe to any SmartSurf HD or Lite, XS, S, M, L, XL plans or 4G mobile plan or MaxMobile Elite (6GB/11GB) datapack plan or #hellochange mobile plans or Mobile+ plans or new 4G mobile plans, and subscribe to International Roaming service or Pay-As-You-Roam service.
You need to use a 4G or 5G mobile device (handset/dongle/tablet), with a subscription to any of the below mobile plans and International Roaming or Pay-As-You-Roam service.

How do I know if I am connected to 4G Roaming?
When you are connected on 4G network, your 4G mobile device will show “4G” or “LTE”.
What happens if I am out of 4G Roaming coverage?
4G Roaming coverage and speed depend on roaming operators’ coverage. You can connect to 3G/2G network if there is no 4G coverage in that area.

What does the RoamEasy Daily Plan offer?
The RoamEasy Daily Plan offers StarHub Mobile postpaid customers with affordable and worry-free data roaming rates, without the hassle of selecting specific roaming operators when overseas.
The RoamEasy Daily Plan offers StarHub Mobile postpaid customers with International Roaming or Pay-as-you-roam subscription with the following data plan:
- $10 for 100MB data block daily (U.P $36 per 100MB daily), 24 hours from the time you commence your first RoamEasy Daily 100MB data block for a day at any of the supported destinations.
A 20% surcharge applies on top of prevailing rates for Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers. Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers will be charged $12 (U.P. $21.60) for every 100MB data block in any of the supported destinations. See the list of supported destinations.

How much will I be charged for 75MB data in Malaysia?
75MB will be considered as 1 blocks of 100MB data block, so you will be charged a total of $10. A 20% surcharge applies on top of prevailing rates for Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers.
I have used only 90MB of data on a day. Can I continue to use the balance 10MB on the next day?
The validity of RoamEasy Daily Plan is based on a 24 hour time frame from the start of first RoamEasy Daily 100MB data block for day. If you have used 90MB of data from 5pm on 1 Jun 16, you can still continue to use the remaining data block on 2 Jun 16, until 5pm. Any data usage after 24 hours will be considered a new session at $10 for every 100MB data block daily. A 20% surcharge applies on top of prevailing rates for Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers.
Can I pay $10 for 100MB data block and use 40MB in Taiwan and 40MB in Philippines within the same day?
Yes, you can. RoamEasy Daily Plan will expire 24 hours from the time you commence your first RoamEasy Daily data block for day. A 20% surcharge applies on top of prevailing rates for Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers.
I have opted-in for the RoamEasy Daily Plan. Will I be charged if I am in Taiwan but did not use any data?
No. There is no charge if you do not use any data in Taiwan. The opt-in indicates that you have participated in the RoamEasy Daily Plan and you will only incur the charges on such days that you use data (ie the 1st KB used) in Taiwan.
Can I enjoy DataTravel Unlimited after I opt in for the RoamEasy Daily Plan?
The RoamEasy Daily Plan will take precedence over DataTravel Unlimited in the RoamEasy supported destinations.
How do I opt out of RoamEasy Daily Plan?
You can opt out by the following channels:
- SMS <sign off> to 78989 (SMS charge applies)
- StarHub App with Hub ID login
Subsequently, you will be charged at the prevailing data roam rates for any roaming data usage.
GlobalRoam *108* FAQ
What is GlobalRoam *108*?
GlobalRoam *108* is an alternative way for you to make an outgoing call when overseas. Just follow the steps shown below [under (5)] to initiate the call. You will receive an incoming call from the system. After answering the call, customer will hear recipient’s ringing tone. Call is connected when the recipient answers the call. The call will be disconnected if the recipient is engaged or does not answer the call after a few rings.
What are the benefits of using GlobalRoam *108*?
In most instances, customers should enjoy savings on their outgoing calls back to Singapore-registered phone numbers (exclude calls made from India, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam) or to phone numbers registered in other countries with GlobalRoam as compared to making an outgoing call using the “+” prefix. Please check the latest rates for making an outgoing call using both options prior to your departure.
You might want to check the GlobalRoam *108* rate to Singapore-registered phone numbers or to phone numbers registered in another country to find out more before you utilise this service. You can also dial *100# (free service) to check GlobalRoam *108* rates to Singapore-registered phone numbers when overseas.
Do I have to register for GlobalRoam *108*?
No. GlobalRoam *108* is automatically enabled for you if you have activated International Roaming or the Pay-As-You-Roam value-added service on your StarHub Mobile Postpaid service.

How do I use GlobalRoam *108*?
To use GlobalRoam *108*,
a. To call Singapore-registered phone number: Dial *108*65<Singapore telephone number># and press the dial button.
To call a phone number registered in another country: Dial *108*<country code><area code if any><telephone number># and press the dial button.
b. When a GlobalRoam call is initiated, you will see this message on the mobile phone “Please wait while we process your request. Call charges will apply when you answer the call. Thank you for using StarHub's GlobalRoam service.”
c. You will receive an incoming call from the system. After answering the call, you should hear the recipient’s ringing tone. Call is connected when the recipient answers the call. The call will be disconnected if the recipient is engaged or does not answer the call after a few rings.
NOTE:
- All call diverts must be disabled before using GlobalRoam *108*.
- Call charges start when you answer the incoming call from the system. Calls diverted to Voicemail are classified as connected calls. Setup charges apply for disconnected calls. Example, for an unanswered call from Australia to Singapore, $0.50 setup charges will apply.
- No savings when making GlobalRoam calls from India, Malaysia, Taiwan or Vietnam to Singapore phone numbers. You should use “+” prefix instead.
- No savings for making GlobalRoam calls to local phone numbers. Example, calling Hong Kong phone number while in Hong Kong. You should use “+” prefix instead.
- If you wish to use GlobalRoam to call another country’s phone number (exclude Singapore), please check at www.starhub.com/roaming to ensure there is savings on GlobalRoam call against “+” prefix rates.
Do I need to do anything after I have keyed in a GlobalRoam *108* request and pressed the dial button?
No. If the request is successful, you will see this message on your mobile phone

You will receive an incoming call from the system if the request is successful.
Can I use GlobalRoam *108* in any overseas destinations I travel to?
At the moment, not all overseas operators support GlobalRoam *108*. If you are unable to initiate a successful GlobalRoam *108* call, please switch to another overseas operator and try again.
Can I use GlobalRoam *108* when I am in Singapore?
No. GlobalRoam *108* can only be used when you are roaming overseas.
Can I use GlobalRoam *108* to call an overseas number?
Yes. You can use GlobalRoam *108* to call both Singapore-registered foreign phone numbers when you are travelling.
If I am roaming overseas, how do I know if the overseas operator I have logged onto supports GlobalRoam *108* ?
If the overseas operator supports GlobalRoam *108*, you will receive this message after you initiate the call, “Please wait while we process your request. Call charges will apply when you answer the call. Thank you for using StarHub's GlobalRoam service.”
If the overseas operator does not support GlobalRoam *108*:
a. You may receive the following message: “Sorry, the service is currently unavailable. Please try again later.”, or
b. You do not receive any successful reply messages despite repeated attempts.
If I do not receive any response from my previous GlobalRoam *108* request, how long should I wait before I initiate another request?
You may wish to initiate another request if you do not receive any response from the system after about 1 minute.
How will I know how much I am being charged for the GlobalRoam *108* call I made to a Singapore-registered number?
The rate charged for your GlobalRoam *108* call to a Singapore-registered phone number depends on the country you are making the calls from.

What do I pay when I use GlobalRoam *108* to call a friend (who is using a local operator) in another destinations?
The rate charged for your GlobalRoam *108* call to foreign-registered phone number depends on the country you are making the calls from and the country you are calling to.
In general, such calls will be charged based on the prevailing StarHub's GlobalRoam *108* Rate (Caller’s Country) and the Zone Rate (Receiver’s Country).
Call charges start when you answer an incoming call from the system. Calls diverted to Voicemail are classified as connected calls.

How will the call charges for GlobalRoam *108* be reflected on my bill?
The call charges for GlobalRoam *108 * will be reflected under the itemised call details for GlobalRoam *108* section in your bill.
Is there any other way that I can make a GlobalRoam *108* call?
A quick dial function has been incorporated in some of the latest StarHub Mobile Postpaid SIM cards issued.
To access this quick dial function, just access your phone menu to locate a category identified as “StarHub” (this is also where you will usually locate the “StarHub Menu”) where you will be able to see a “GlobalRoam” option if the quick dial function has been incorporated in the SIM card that you are using.
Just click on the “GlobalRoam” option and you can choose to enter the phone number you wish to call to, or just select the option where you can search your phonebook (saved in SIM) to select the number you want to connect to.
If I make a call to a Singapore-registered phone number using GlobalRoam *108*, can the recipients see my mobile phone number?
Yes, the recipient is able to see your mobile phone number if you are not subscribed to the Caller Number Non-Display service.
What happens if the recipient’s phone is engaged?
The call will be disconnected after a few rings, after which you will hear an engaged tone.
Will I be charged if the call is disconnected because the recipient does not pick up the call?
Call charges start when you answer an incoming call from the system. Calls diverted to Voicemail are classified as connected calls.
What will happen if I do not pick up the call from the system?
Your call will be unsuccessful should you not pick up the incoming call from the system due to your line being busy or because you're out of the network coverage area. An SMS will then be sent notifying you that the call was unsuccessful: “Sorry, the call is unsuccessful as the system cannot reach you or you have enabled Call Divert. Please disable Call Divert or try again.”
VoLTE Roaming
What is VoLTE calls and VoLTE roaming?
Voice over LTE is a new standard for calls throughout many telco operators. Operators that can support VoLTE roaming, allows us to transit roaming voice call over a 4G LTE mobile network. You will experience crystal clear voice over VoLTE roaming, just like a local call in Singapore.
Which countries will StarHub be offering VoLTE roaming?
As of now, USA - AT&T (Operator) is StarHub’s partner for offering VoLTE roaming. Stay tuned for more operators onboarding on VoLTE roaming.
How do I use VoLTE roaming?
VoLTE roaming is dependent on supported handset, operators (local mobile telco) and activation of VoLTE roaming service.
What are the charges for VoLTE calls and SMS?
Standard roaming charges shall be applied for this service. Find out more here.
Are there any extra data charges to VoLTE Roaming?
Standard roaming charges shall be applied for this service. There are no extra charges to VoLTE roaming other than standard roaming charges.

What are the settings on smartphone to enjoy VoLTE roaming?
Please perform the following steps to access VoLTE roaming:

3. Ensure the mobile Data switch is in the “on” position.

1. Open the Settings app on your home screen or app drawer or slide down from the top of your screen.

If I am unable to select VoLTE on my phone, what should I do?
VoLTE roaming should automatically latch to the local network for VoLTE service just like local VoLTE network. If you are unable to use VoLTE, please check with your handset manufacturer for VoLTE roaming support or switch to another available roaming network (e.g., USA, T-Mobile).
Inflight Connectivity
What is inflight connectivity?
It is a roaming service that enables StarHub Postpaid subscribers to make and receive voice calls, send and receive SMS and use data on an aircraft. The service is provided by StarHub in partnership with OnAir and Aeromobile.
Who is eligible to use inflight connectivity services?
All StarHub Postpaid mobile subscribers who are subscribed to either International Roaming or Pay-As-You-Roam are eligible to use inflight connectivity services. A 20% surcharge applies for Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers.
As a StarHub customer, on which airline can I use inflight connectivity services?
Currently, you can use OnAir or AeroMobile service on selected aircraft with Singapore Airlines or other airlines. The cabin crew on the flight will make an announcement if an inflight connectivity service is available.
How do I log onto inflight mobile network?
It simple, turn OFF “Flight mode” or “Airplane mode” on your mobile phone and you will automatically log onto the supported inflight mobile network (if available) during flight.
Once you are logged on, you will be charged based on prevailing inflight connectivity charges.
What should I do if I don’t want to logon to inflight mobile network?
Please turn ON “Flight mode” or “Airplane mode” on your phone.
How can I start using data roaming on OnAir or Aeromobile?
You need to first subscribe to either StarHub International Roaming or StarHub Pay-As-You-Roam. Thereafter, you just need to turn on data roaming on your phone setting and get connected automatically.
What are the data charges?
All StarHub International Roaming subscribers will be charged $25/day for unlimited roaming data usage for each SIM card. For StarHub Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers, a 20% surcharge applies. The data session will be reset at 00:00hrs, based on Singapore’s time.
How much will I be charged if my data roam usage did not reach the daily usage cap?
You will be charged $0.02 per KB before you reach the daily usage cap.
A 20% surcharge applies on top of prevailing rates for Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers.
I do not want to incur accidental data roaming charges. How do I log onto the inflight mobile network to use roaming voice and SMS services only?
You would need to turn OFF “Mobile Data” and “Data when roaming” on your phone.
Can I get connected immediately once I enter the aircraft?
You can use OnAir or Aeromobile service during cruising flight but not on ground, during aircraft take-off or landing.
Can I use roaming services with a StarHub Prepaid SIM on an inflight mobile network?
No, only StarHub Mobile Postpaid customers can use roaming services on an inflight mobile network.

DataRoam Cap @ $100 is a roaming tool that ensures your data roaming usage charges do not exceed $100 per month, based on your bill cycle.
Is the DataRoam Cap @ $100 service available to all customers?
The DataRoam Cap @ $100 service is available to StarHub postpaid mobile customer who is holding one of the following mobile plans:
- 4G mobile plan
- SmartSurf HD plan
- i2Surf plan
- PowerValue Plan with MaxMobile/BlackBerry® VAS
- MaxMobile DataPack

How do I sign up for the DataRoam Cap @ $100 service?
To activate DataRoam Cap @ $100 via My Account Manager on starhub.com:
- Login to My Account Manager using your HubID
- Go to Manage My Account
- Scroll to Manager My Services and click on View & Manage on the line you wish to add DataRoam Cap @ $100
- Click Modify on My Value-Added Services
- At DataRoam Cap @ $100, click on + Add Service
You will receive an activation SMS - Dear customer, you have successfully activated DataRoam Cap @ $100. Thank you.
NOTE :
- The computation of the $100 data roaming cap is based on the current bill cycle. If you have activated the DataRoam Cap @ $100 after exceeding $100 of data roaming usage for the current bill cycle, the service will be effective from next bill cycle onwards.

To disable the DataRoam Cap @ $100 service via Roam Manager:
- Login to My Account Manager using your HubID
- Go to Manage My Account
- Scroll to Manager My Services and click on View & Manage on the line you wish to add DataRoam Cap @ $100
- Click Modify on My Value-Added Services
- At DataRoam Cap @ $100, click on x Remove Service
You will receive a deactivation SMS - Dear customer, you have successfully deactivated DataRoam Cap @ $100. Thank you.
Can I activate the DataRoam Cap @ $100 service again after deactivation?
Yes. You can activate the DataRoam Cap @ $100 service again service again via My Account Manager.
When my data roaming is suspended, can I still make roaming voice call or SMS?
Yes, you can still receive or make outgoing voice/video calls and SMS even when your data roaming is suspended.
If I have subscribed to DataRoam Cap @ $100 service, will I be able to enjoy the unlimited data surfing with Conexus Mobile Alliance Network?
Yes. The system will calculate the usage as $15 for the unlimited data surfing you have used for the day on Conexus Mobile Alliance Network.
When my data roaming is suspended, can I access my local data when I am back in Singapore?
Yes, DataRoam Cap @ $100 will only suspend your data roaming service, and not your local data access.
If my data roaming is suspended after reaching the $100 cap, when can I start using my data roaming again?
DataRoam Cap @ $100 service limits your data roaming charges to a maximum of $100 per month. Your data roaming usage will be reset on your next bill cycle so you can use your data roaming till it reaches the $100 cap again.
I have activated the DataRoam Cap @ $100 service. Why do some of my roaming bill charges still exceed $100 in the bill?
Your roaming charges may not reach us in time to be reflected in your current bill. If this happens, these charges will be reflected in your next bill. Please rest assured that your data roaming usage charges are capped at $100, calculated based on your call dates within your bill cycle.
Why does my bill show the data roaming suspension being charged at $95.85 instead of $100?
As our roaming partners may take a while to pass your mobile usage information to StarHub, we normally do an early suspension of your data roaming suspension to ensure that your total data roaming cost will not exceed $100.
Are there other ways to manage my data roaming charges?
Yes, you can access My Account Manager to manually check your data roaming usage or to suspend/restore your data roaming access. Simply login to My Account Manager at starhub.com.
Maritime Connectivity
What is maritime connectivity?
It is a roaming service that enables StarHub Postpaid subscribers to make and receive voice calls, send and receive SMS and use data onboard a maritime vessel. The service is provided by StarHub in partnership with Telenor Maritime.
Who is eligible to use maritime connectivity services?
All StarHub Postpaid mobile subscribers who are subscribed to either International Roaming or Pay-As-You-Roam are eligible to use maritime connectivity services. A 20% surcharge applies for Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers.
As a StarHub customer, on which vessels can I use maritime connectivity services?
Currently, you can use maritime connectivity services provided by Telenor Maritime on selected maritime vessels operated by the following liners.

How can I know for sure if Telenor Maritime mobile network is available on the maritime vessel before my departure date?
You are advised to check directly with the company operating the vessel about the availability of the mobile network prior to your departure date.
How do I log onto Telenor Maritime to use voice, SMS and data roaming services?
Ensure “Flight mode” or “Airplane mode” is turned off, then go to “Setting” > “Carrier” or “Mobile Network”

How can I start using data roaming on Telenor Maritime?
You need to first subscribe to either StarHub International Roaming or StarHub Pay-As-You-Roam. Thereafter, you just need to turn on data roaming on your phone setting and get connected automatically.
What are the data charges?
All StarHub International Roaming subscribers will be charged $25/day for unlimited roaming data usage for each SIM card. For StarHub Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers, a 20% surcharge applies. The data session will be reset at 00:00hrs, based on Singapore’s time.
How much will I be charged if my data roam usage did not reach the daily usage cap?
You will be charged $0.02 per KB before you reach the daily usage cap. A 20% surcharge applies on top of prevailing rates for StarHub Pay-As-You-Roam subscribers.
I do not want to incur accidental data roaming charges. How do I log onto the maritime mobile network to use roaming voice and SMS services only?
Ensure “Mobile Data” and “Data roaming” settings are turned off on your phone, then go to “Setting” > “Carrier” or “Mobile Network”
For Telenor Maritime: Select “Telenor Maritime” or “901 12” or “TelenorMar” or “MCP” or “MCP Maritime Com”
Can I get connected immediately once I enter the maritime vessel?
You can get connected when the vessel is at least 2 nautical miles away from the port. You are advised to check with the crew onboard on the specific time the mobile network will be made available as this will differ for each vessel.
Can I use roaming services with a StarHub Prepaid SIM on a maritime mobile network?
No, only StarHub Mobile Postpaid customers can use roaming services on a maritime mobile network.
