The StarHub Smart Remote is designed for the StarHub TV+ app on supported Smart TVs. It comes with tailored buttons for a seamless navigation and viewing experience.

It can also act as a universal remote control (in place of your TV remote control) on supported brands of Smart TV models running Android TV or Google TV.

Which Smart TVs  are compatible with the StarHub Smart Remote?

The StarHub Smart Remote is compatible with Smart TV models running Android TV or Google TV with a minimum version 9.0 or later.

In particular, the universal remote control feature is compatible with the following Smart TV brands:

  • Hisense

Will I get charged for Starter+ TV Pass after the end of my complimentary access?

Your complimentary access to Starter+ TV Pass is valid for 24 months. The duration of the promotion may be extended from time to time.

Will I get more than 1 complimentary Starter+ TV Pass access if I purchase more than 1 StarHub Smart Remote?

No, you will only be entitled to 1 complimentary Starter+ TV Pass access based on your Hub iD regardless of the number of StarHub Smart Remotes you purchase.

I am an existing StarHub TV+ subscriber. Will I be able to enjoy the complimentary Starter+ TV Pass access promotion if I purchase the StarHub Smart Remote?

As a StarHub TV+ subscriber, you already enjoy a wider variety of content based on the TV+ Pass you are subscribed to. Therefore, the complimentary Starter+ access promotion is not applicable to you.

How to Set Up Your StarHub Smart Remote

How do I set up my StarHub Smart Remote?

Step 1: Install or Update your StarHub TV+ app

If you are a new StarHub TV+ user, please go to the Google Play Store on your Smart TV to install the StarHub TV+ app.

If you are an existing StarHub TV+ user, please ensure that your app version is 4.617.965 or higher. To check your current app version, go to Settings > About App.

If your app version is older than 4.617.965, please update your app via the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Connect your Smart Remote

First, insert the batteries into your Smart Remote.

Next, connect the USB dongle to the USB port of your Smart TV.

Once connected, a prompt will appear on-screen. Choose “Keep my remote control updated at all times” and select “Always”.

Step 3: Allow permission for Android TV

After Step 2, the StarHub TV+ app will launch automatically and “Allow display over other apps” will appear at the side of the screen. Scroll down to locate “StarHub TV+” and press "OK" to enable.

How do I keep my StarHub Smart Remote updated?

The StarHub Smart Remote will periodically check for software updates in the background when the StarHub TV+ app is active and connected to the Internet.

Troubleshooting Guide

I am unable to pair my StarHub Smart Remote to my Smart TV. What should I do?

If the pairing of your StarHub Smart Remote is unsuccessful, try removing the USB dongle from the USB port of the TV and reconnect it. If there is more than 1 USB port on the TV, try using the other USB port.

If the pairing is still unsuccessful after reconnecting the USB dongle, press "Home" + "OK" to initiate pairing.

If the issue persists, you may have a defective unit and can proceed to do an exchange at one of these StarHub Shops: Jurong Point, Nex, Plaza Singapura or Tampines Mall.

My StarHub Smart Remote is not responding. What should I do?

If your StarHub Smart Remote is not responsive, it could be due to weak batteries. Try to remove and re-insert the batteries and check if the Low Battery Indicator is lit. Replace the batteries where necessary.

If it is not a battery issue, remove the USB dongle from the USB port of the TV and reconnect it. If the issue persists, you can try a Factory Reset.

To perform a factory reset, press and hold numbers 7 and 9 for at least 10 seconds. The LED will blink during the factory reset process. Once completed, follow the set-up instructions again.

If the issue persists after a factory reset, you may have a defective unit and can proceed to do an exchange at our StarHub Shops.

What is the warranty period for the StarHub Smart Remote and what does it cover?

The StarHub Smart Remote comes with a 24-month warranty period from the date of purchase and is warranted against defects in material and workmanship.

Where can I do a 1-1 exchange for my faulty StarHub Smart Remote?

You can exchange your faulty StarHub Smart Remote at the following StarHub Shops:

  • Jurong Point
  • Nex
  • Plaza Singapura
  • Tampines Mall

Do note that our StarHub consultants will assess the claim and may reject the exchange if it is due to misuse or negligence.

Will my warranty period be extended after an exchange of my StarHub Smart Remote?

There is no extension of your original warranty period after a faulty exchange.
