Why is StarHub adjusting the monthly subscription for Amazon Prime?  

Amazon announced on 28 August 2024 that the monthly subscription fee for Amazon Prime membership had increased from $2.99/month to $4.99/month. For more information, please refer to https://www.amazon.sg/prime


In line with this price adjustment, StarHub will also adjust the subscription fee for Amazon Prime membership to $4.99, effective 1 December 2024 onwards. StarHub subscribers will continue to enjoy Amazon Prime membership at $2.99/month until 1 December 2024.

The new monthly subscription of $4.99/month will be effective and reflected in your billing cycle dated 1 December 2024 onwards. No action is required from your end.

Yes, of course! You are eligible for the FREE 30-day Amazon Prime membership trial! Simply activate your FREE trial via StarHub App. Refer to FAQ 7 for the step-by-step guide.


Your membership will continue automatically at $4.99/month from the 2nd month. The amount will be charged to your StarHub bill, giving you greater convenience of one bill. Not to worry, StarHub will send SMS and/or email notifications 7 days prior to the expiry of the FREE trial.

How long is the promotion period for the 3-month Amazon Prime membership on StarHub?

This promotion for eligible StarHub TV+, Broadband and HomeHub+ new sign-ups or recontracting customers is ongoing and valid till further notice.

I have received the SMS and/or email notification for the 3-month Amazon Prime offer. Do I need to activate it immediately?

The 3-month Amazon Prime offer will be valid for 30 days from the date you receive the SMS and/or email notification. We encourage you to activate your Amazon Prime membership as soon as possible via StarHub App before it expires. Refer to FAQ 7 for the step-by-step guide.


Do rest assure that you will not be charged for Amazon Prime membership if you do not wish to activate it.

How do I activate my Amazon Prime membership?

Activate your membership in 5 simple steps:


Step 1:


Upon signing up to one of the eligible plans, look out for the SMS and/or email that will be sent to your registered mobile number or email with StarHub within 24 hours once your StarHub service has been fully activated.


Step 2:


Click on the activation link in the SMS and/or email on your mobile device to go to StarHub App.


If you are not using the latest version of the StarHub App, please update your app via the App Store or Google Play Store.


Step 3:


The activation link will lead you directly to the Amazon Prime membership page.

In case you have missed or have not received any SMS or email with the activation link, you can also open the StarHub App, tap “Entertainment”, and select “Amazon Prime”.

Step 4:

The Amazon Prime membership page will display the Amazon Prime offer that’s tied to your StarHub Service.


Click “Subscribe now” and you will be re-directed to Amazon’s webpage for further instructions on how to sign up.

If you have signed up for more than one eligible plan, you can enjoy one Amazon Prime offer with each eligible plan. However, you will be required to use a different email address or mobile number to register for separate Amazon accounts.

Do I sign up for the Amazon Prime membership with my mobile number or email address?

It’s up to you! You can sign up using either your mobile number or email address. However, we recommend signing up with your email address as you may not be able to log into your Amazon account with your mobile number should you choose to terminate your mobile line in the future.

What happens to my Amazon Prime membership after the 3-month period?

We hope you enjoyed your Amazon Prime membership on us! Your membership will continue at $4.99/month from the 4th month. The amount will be directly charged to your StarHub bill, giving you greater convenience of just having one bill for StarHub and entertainment services. Should you wish to cancel your membership, you can do so anytime via StarHub App, with no cancellation fees!

I have an existing Amazon Prime membership with Amazon. Can I transfer StarHub's offer to my existing account?

If you are already an Amazon Prime member, you can activate the offer through StarHub once your membership has ended with Amazon. To know more about your existing membership details, please visit the "Manage Prime membership page’ within the Amazon shopping app.

I have previously enjoyed 3-month Amazon Prime membership on StarHub. Am I eligible for the 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime membership?

You will not be eligible for the 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime membership if you have previously enjoyed the 3-month Amazon Prime membership on StarHub.

How do I terminate my Amazon Prime membership with StarHub?

You have full control and can choose how long you want to be on Amazon Prime membership. Should you wish to cancel your membership, you can do so anytime via StarHub App. Simply follow these steps:


  • Log in

  • Tap on the "Entertainment" icon

  • Tap on "Manage & Info" under Amazon Prime

  • Tap on "Manage subscriptions"

  • Tap the "Unsubscribe" button

  • Review and submit


Charges, where applicable, will be pro-rated accordingly.

Do note that you will not be able to re-subscribe to Amazon Prime to enjoy the remaining period of your original offer or free trial if you cancel your membership prematurely.

Will there be any early termination fee if I decide to cancel my Amazon Prime membership?

There are no termination fees for the Amazon Prime membership. You have full control to choose how long you want to enjoy your Amazon Prime membership or cancel it anytime via StarHub App.

You may not be able to access your Amazon account if your mobile line is suspended as Amazon may require a One-Time Password (OTP) for added account security and verification.

How many profiles can I create with my Amazon account?

You can have up to six (6) user profiles (the default primary profile plus up to five additional profiles, which can be either adult or Kid's profiles) within Prime Video on a single Amazon account.


Each profile will have separate recommendations, season progress and Watchlist based on individual profile activity.

Can I download the movies and shows on Prime Video?

Watch offline on the Prime Video app when you download titles to your iPhone, iPad, Tablet, or Android device.


For movies:

Select the option to download the title from the detail page.


For TV shows:

There is an option to download the entire season. To download individual episodes, select the download icon on the list of episodes.

Is there restricted content on Prime Video?

Yes, Prime Video includes mature content and programmes are rated according to local IMDA guidelines for content rating compliance – G, PG, PG13, NC16, M18 and R21.

As a parent, how can I ensure that it is safe for my kids to stream on Prime Video?

You can create Kids profile and make use of parental controls available on Prime Video.


Prime Video makes sure that only age-appropriate TV shows and movies (with maturity rating 12 and under) are visible in Kids profile. However, all downloads including those from an adult's profile, will still be available and can be accessed through the Kids profiles. Search results and search suggestions will also be filtered.


Prime Video parental controls give you the ability to set restrictions for the video content that can be viewed or purchased on your device. It works by requiring entry of your PIN to bypass any purchase or viewing restrictions you've enabled.

Why do I have to pay for some titles?

Some titles are available to purchase or rent for an extra charge in addition to any titles you may have access to with your Amazon Prime or Prime Video membership.


Purchases from the Prime Video store that are not Included with Prime are automatically charged to your 1-Click payment method. As soon as the order completes, purchases are available to view in your Purchases & Rentals.
