What payment options are available when I buy a device with Star Plan?

You can choose the buy now pay later option or pay for the device amount in full. Pay in 12 or 24 monthly instalments with 0% interest and no plan contract when you opt to buy now pay later. With this, it’s never been easier to own your dream phone!

How is buy now pay later with Star Plan different from EasyGo?

EasyGo was offered for device purchases with our SIM Only plans. While buy now pay later for Star Plan is similar to EasyGo, this payment option is an improved version as it lets you enjoy extra savings on the device of your choice. You can own a new device while paying bite-sized instalments for 12 or 24 months at 0% interest!

Unlike EasyGo, where payments are charged to your monthly bills. Monthly instalment payments will be charged directly to your credit/debit card when you buy now pay later with Star Plan. Your first payment will be made upon successful device purchase.

Does buy now pay later apply to all devices that StarHub offers?

Buy now pay later may not apply to some devices that we offer. Look out for the label to know which devices you can pay for in monthly instalments.

Can I buy accessories like phone cases with buy now pay later?

You can buy accessories together with your device, but you’ll have to pay for them upfront. Only the device can be purchased with a buy now pay later monthly instalment plan. Also, we don’t offer standalone accessory purchases.

Can I trade in my old device then get a device with Star Plan using buy now pay later?

Sure! Purchase your new device first, choose buy now pay later, complete your data transfer from your old device to the new one as necessary, then head over to our trade-in page to arrange your device trade-in.

Can I change my SIM Only plan to Star Plan and continue my EasyGo monthly instalment plan with buy now pay later?

Your EasyGo monthly instalment plan can’t be converted to buy now pay later with Star Plan.


Eligibility

Who’s eligible to buy a device with Star Plan through buy now pay later?

Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents, ONE Pass and Employment Pass holders are eligible to buy now pay later with Star Plan. You can buy a device through this instalment plan if you’re currently subscribed to, signing up for, or completed the porting in/switching to Star Plan. Other eligibility checks may apply, subject to the terms and conditions.

Monthly instalments for device purchases with Star Plan will be available for other long-term pass holders soon. Stay tuned!

Does buy now pay later apply for StarHub Broadband or TV?

Buy now pay later is available only for Star Plan (mobile) now.

I have an ongoing EasyGo instalment with my SIM Only plan. Can I also purchase a device with Star Plan and choose to buy now pay later?

You can have both EasyGo and buy now pay later with Star Plan at the same time, subject to eligibility.

Is the option to buy now pay later for device purchases available for SIM Only plans or Mobile+ 2-year plans?

To purchase a device with a buy now pay later option, you’ll need to have a Star Plan.

How do I purchase a device with Star Plan and choose buy now pay later?

Simply log in to the StarHub App using your Hub iD, select a device that has the buy now pay later option and choose between the 12- or 24-month instalment period. Some devices may only have one instalment period available. 

Ensure you log in with your Hub iD as you won’t be able to buy a device if you log in using your mobile number.

What documents do I need to prepare if I’m choosing buy now pay later with Star Plan?

You’ll only need your NRIC if you’d like to get your device via buy now pay later. You’ll be routed through the eKYC system for an eligibility check.

If you’re a ONE Pass or Employment Pass holder, your pass must be valid for at least six months to be eligible for buy now pay later.  

Buy now pay later will be available for other long-term pass holders soon. Stay tuned!

Is there a limit to the number of devices I can get on buy now pay later?

Depending on your eligibility, you can have multiple simultaneous buy now pay later plans.  You’ll be routed through the eKYC system for an eligibility check.

Can I buy two (2) devices (e.g. iPhone and Apple Watch) under one buy now pay later plan?

Yes, you can buy two (2) devices in a single transaction, and this will be considered as one buy now pay later plan.

What instalment payment periods are available for buy now pay later?

You can choose between a 12- or 24-month instalment payment period.

Once I’ve purchased a device, can I change the instalment payment period from 12 months to 24 months or vice versa?

The instalment payment period is fixed and cannot be changed once you’ve completed your device purchase.

How is the buy now pay later monthly instalment amount computed?

Your device amount is equally divided by the selected instalment payment period. For example, if you purchase a device amounting to S$1,200 and select a 12-month instalment payment period, you’ll be charged S$100 every month.

How do I pay for my monthly instalments?

You’ll be asked to link a debit/credit card to your device purchase. The instalment amount will be charged to this card every month.

What types of cards can I link to my Star Plan or device purchase?

We accept both debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard or American Express). Please ensure the card you use is enrolled in a security program (Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode or American Express SafeKey®) for 3D secure authentication.

Can I use StarHub Dollars and Bonus Dollars to pay for my monthly instalment?

Payments for your buy now pay later monthly instalment can only be made via debit/credit card.

Can I defer payment for my monthly instalment?

Payment will be charged to your debit/credit card on the stated due date, and it can’t be deferred. Please ensure you have sufficient funds/credit.

If the instalment amount remains unpaid within 15 days from the due date, your buy now pay later plan will be cancelled and the balance will be charged to your debit/credit card. The instalment plan can no longer be resumed. Don’t worry, you’ll receive an SMS before the cancellation.

My buy now pay later plan is ending in a month. Can I buy a new device and choose this option again?

Yes you can, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria.

Can I end my buy now pay later monthly instalments earlier and just pay for the balance in full?

The option to end your instalments earlier and pay the balance in full is not yet available now.

I selected a device, but the buy now pay later option is greyed out. What should I do?

Ensure that you’re subscribed to Star Plan and your payments are updated. If you’re not eligible for buy now pay later, you can choose to pay for the device amount in full instead.

I’m changing my Star Plan to another Star Plan. Will it affect my ongoing buy now pay later?

Your buy now pay later with Star Plan will continue as long as you’re subscribed to any Star Plan. Termination of the Star Plan associated or tied to buy now pay later will cause the instalment to drop and you are required to pay the remaining balance.

I had my Star Plan suspended voluntarily because I’m going overseas. What happens to my Buy Now Pay Later instalments?

Your buy now pay later instalments will continue even if your Star Plan is suspended.

What happens to my buy now pay later plan if I miss a payment?

Your buy now pay later plan will be cancelled if you’re unable to make your payment within 15 days from the due date. Once cancelled, the balance will be charged to your debit/credit card, and your instalment plan can no longer be resumed. You’ll receive an SMS before the cancellation.

What happens to my buy now pay later plan if my Star Plan is suspended due to non-payment?

Your buy now pay later plan will continue even if your Star Plan is suspended. If your Star Plan is terminated, your instalment plan will be cancelled, and the balance will be charged to your debit/credit card.

What happens to my buy now pay later plan if I terminate my Star Plan or switch to another telco?

Your buy now pay later plan will be cancelled if you terminate your Star Plan or switch to another telco. Once cancelled, the balance will be charged to your debit/credit card.

What happens to my buy now pay later plan if I transfer my Star Plan to another owner?

Your buy now pay later plan will be cancelled if you transfer your Star Plan to another owner. Once cancelled, the balance will be charged to your debit/credit card.

The device I bought is defective. Can I get a replacement?

Any device issue that occurs after you accept the device you bought must be raised at the manufacturer’s service centre. You can refer to the list here.

For future purchases, please check the device and ensure that it’s in working condition with complete accessories before confirming delivery. This way, if there’s a defect or a missing item, we can arrange for a new device to be delivered to you on another date and time.
