This service effectively filters out all incoming international SMSes to your number. Its purpose is to pre-emptively block unwanted international SMSes before they can reach your devices, providing you with a more secure and hassle-free communication experience.
Would this service block SMSes/messages on other Third-Party applications?
SMSes/messages on other Third-Party applications such as iMessage, WhatsApp etc. will not be blocked by this service.
What is the cost of Block Overseas SMSes?
The fees for Block Overseas SMSes have been waived for a limited time. You can now enjoy all the benefits without any charges!
Is there a minimum contract period?
You can opt-in or opt out of this service at any time, as per your convenience and preference, except when your current request is still being processed.
How do I activate the blocking service on my phone?
Here's how you can activate Block Overseas SMSes service:
1.Log in to your StarHub App.
2.Tap on "Home" or "Shop" icon.
3.Select "SafeHub+" option.
4.Go to "Cyber Security" and click "Block Overseas SMSes".
5.Choose the mobile number(s) you want to activate the service for and click "Confirm" to proceed.
Will I be notified of blocked SMSes?
If you have activated the Block Overseas SMSes service, the SMSes will be blocked before reaching your device, so you will not receive any notifications about blocked SMSes.
Is the Block Overseas SMSes service available for both Android and iOS devices?
The Block Overseas SMSes service is not restricted by the type of device you use as it is tied to your number/voice plan.
Can I use the Block Overseas SMSes service while travelling internationally?
No worries! Even when you're travelling overseas, you can still take advantage of our Block Overseas SMSes service. SMSes from local (Singapore-based) number will not be blocked.
Can I select specific countries to block SMS from?
Unfortunately, you can't select specific countries to block with this service. This Block Overseas SMSes service will block all incoming SMSes from countries worldwide, except Singapore.
What happens if I change my number or transfer the ownership to another person?
In the event of a change of number or if your number has been transferred to another individual, the service will be terminated. However, you can re-subscribe to the service under your new number.
How do I opt-out or unsubscribe to Block Overseas SMSes?
1.Log in to your StarHub App.
2.Tap on "Home" or "Shop" icon.
3.Select "SafeHub+" option.
4.Go to "Cyber Security" and click "Block Overseas SMSes".
5.Choose the mobile number(s) you want to deactivate the service for and click "Confirm" to proceed.
How long will it take for my service to activate or deactivate?
Your Block Overseas SMSes service will be activated or deactivated within 24 hours of successfully submitting your request.
