All that you need to get your home ready for fibre broadband
First, ensure that your home's physical location is covered by the Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network, the initiative by IMDA to provide an islandwide fibre network offering high-speed access within Singapore.
Read more about this initiative in The Straits Times.
Termination Point
The Termination Point is where you can get connected to the fibre broadband network. This will be installed in your home by OpenNet, the Network company in charge of designing, building and operating the fibre connection.
Optical Network Terminal
The Optical Network Terminal connects to the Termination Point, and is provided by our partner, Nucleus Connect.
Router
A router, such as the TP-Link EB810v (left) allows your personal devices to connect to the fibre broadband network. One set will be provided by StarHub upon subscription.

- Easy Setup and Management

Already have the router? IOS users can download the app directly from the App Store. For Android users, instructions are available on the official TP-Link site.
In larger homes, a single ONT and router pair can struggle to ensure seamless coverage in every room. Fortunately, this can be solved by setting up additional Mesh routers. Not sure how many you’ll need? Check out the guideline below.*
*: Mesh units from other brands will not be compatible with the TP-Link EB810v router. We strongly recommend using another EB810v for the best performance.
Layout | Average Size (sq.ft) | No. of Optical Network Terminals (ONT) | Recommended No. of Mesh Routers/Units. |
2-Room | 500-700 | 1 | 1 |
3-Room | 700-1250 | 1 | 2 |
4 to 5-Room | 1250-1500 | 1 | 3 |
