What is a Device Plan?

Device Plan is an all-inclusive 2-year contract plan that comes with hassle-free data roaming, entertainment, data, outgoing talktime and SMS. Plus, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of greater 5G coverage and superfast speeds at no extra cost.

What is the difference between Mobile+ and the new Device Plan (made available from 29 Aug 2024)?

The new Device Plan comes packed with even more local data on our 5G network. Plus, free data roaming across Asia Pacific and Global destinations! View the plan options here.

Is eSIM available for Device Plan? 

Anyone using an eSIM-compatible device can get an eSIM! Simply choose the eSIM option when you sign up for a new line or port in from another telco. 


Existing StarHub customers will be able to switch over to eSIM at a later date. Stay tuned for updates!

Can I change my Device Plan to another tier and are there any fees to do so?

If you are servicing an existing 2-year device contract, you can upgrade to the next tier of Device Plan to enjoy more data with free roaming with no additional fees or early termination charges (ETC).


If you change your plan to a lower-tier plan within your commitment period, a downgrade fee will apply. It’s best to check if you’re still in contract to avoid additional fees.

How do I sign up for Device Plan?

Getting on board is simple. You can sign up from the comfort of your home via our Online Store or head down to any of our StarHub Shops.

Who is eligible to sign up for Device Plan?

All new and existing StarHub customers can sign up or recontract to Device Plan through these channels:


StarHub Online Store: Simply log in to the online store with your Hub iD and select either "New Sign Up" or "Recontract". We will then check your eligibility for your selected option.


StarHub Shop: Your eligibility is based on the eligibility assessment that StarHub will conduct at the point of sale.

Can I enjoy my CIS/employee benefits with Device Plan?

Yes, CIS discounts and promotions are available for Device Plan, subject to changes without prior notice. Learn more here.

Can I add on more data, talktime, or SMS for Device Plan?

Sure! It’s your plan, build it the way you like it based on your needs. Add on more Data, Talktime and other services anytime via StarHub App with no activation charge!

Can I switch my current Star Plan to the new Device Plan?

With Star Plan, you can enjoy the perks of a contract-free plan with superfast 5G speeds, streaming and customer experience! Plus, no bill-shocks ever with upfront payment for all you need. Checking data usage, changing add-ons and accessing customer care and live agents 24/7 are all at your fingertips on StarHub App.


What's more Star Plan L now comes with free roaming at 5 destinations! 


Switching from Star Plan to a Device Plan is not currently available. Device Plan will be made available to Star Plan users soon. Stay tuned for updates!

Is Device Plan eligible for Hub Club Go membership and discounts? 

Great news! You may continue to enjoy the benefits and savings under Hub Club Go membership with Device Plan.

Can I use my existing recontract voucher on Device Plan? 

Sure thing! If you have been awarded a recontract voucher, it can be used to offset the cost of your chosen device. However, do note that the value of the recontract voucher will vary depending on the plan selected.

How can I check the duration of my contract?


You can conveniently view the details of your contract via StarHub.


Step 1: Simply log in to the app with your Hub iD and from the homepage select the "Mobile" tab.

Step 2: Click on the three-dot menu on the righthand side of your screen and tap on "Plan Details" from the submenu.


Here, you will see the details and duration of your contract as well as your eligibility to other services.

How do I contact StarHub about signing up?

Existing Mobile+ 2-year plan customers

Can I renew my Mobile+ plan to the new Device Plan?

Simply log in to the Online Store with your Hub iD to check if your line is eligible for renewal to Device Plan.


If you are servicing an existing 2-year device contract, you can upgrade to the next tier of Device Plan to enjoy more data with free roaming! When you upgrade, no additional fees or early termination charges (ETC) will apply. This can be done via StarHub App.

Can I continue to stay on my current plan when my contract expires?

Yes, you may choose to remain on your existing plan without recontracting. There will be no changes to your plan, and your monthly subscription charge will be the same unless you decide to change it or recontract to another plan.


If you like to get a new mobile phone at a discount, you will need to recontract to our new Device Plan. Learn more here.

Can I transfer ownership of my current plan to another person?

Yes, you can transfer the ownership of your existing plan. The new owner will inherit your existing plan.


To transfer ownership of your StarHub mobile service, visit our StarHub Shop with the new owner. If you're not able to be present, the new owner must bring your NRIC with a signed letter of authorisation.

I am currently on the Mobile+ $69 2-year plan. Will my plan be automatically converted to Device Plan S on 29 August 2024?

Your existing plan will not be converted automatically. If you are eligible to recontract, you can choose from our Device Plan or explore our no-contract SIM Only Star Plan.

Can I recontract to your Mobile+ 2-year plan options after 29 August 2024?

Our Mobile+ 2-year plans ($69/$99/$129/$169) have been discontinued on 29 August 2024.

Roaming with Device Plan

I’m currently having a Pay-As-You-Roam service, what happens when I sign up for the new plans?

We’ve made everything easier and more affordable for you! Our new plans come bundled with International Roaming, so you won’t be needing your Pay-As-You-Roam anymore. No action is needed on your part, as you will be automatically converted to International Roaming.

How do I subscribe and enable roaming services on my line with the new plans?

You can opt in to enjoy the free International Roaming service or add it anytime via My Account or StarHub App.

Do I need to activate International Roaming for Device Plan?

International Roaming is activated automatically with Device Plan. You will also enjoy free roaming service at supported destinations that are part of your plan's entitlement. 
 
When overseas, go to your phone settings to ensure Data Roaming and Mobile Data are enabled. Simply ensure you have sufficient roaming entitlements/add-ons and you're ready to roam.

Is there extra charges if I exceed my data roaming entitlement on my Device Plan?

If you've fully utilized your bundled free data roaming entitlement or add-on, roaming usage charges will apply. Simply purchase and stack on extra roaming add-ons. Click here to manage your add-ons on the StarHub App.


Your roaming data usage will be offset from your mobile plan's complimentary roaming entitlement until it is fully utilized. Subsequent roaming data usage will then be offset from your selected add-on DataTravel plan if you are still data roaming in the same supported country.

Will I be able to use roaming services on my Device Plan even without purchasing an add-on?

A valid roaming entitlement or add-on is required in order to use roaming data, and receive incoming or make outgoing calls and send outgoing SMS. If you don't have roaming entitlements or add-ons, you'll still be able to receive incoming SMS while roaming at the supported destinations.

What roaming add-ons are available for Device Plan?

Device Plan comes with free data roaming! Should you require more, we have 9 roaming add-ons available. Learn more here or visit the Mobile Add on page on the StarHub App to check the supported destinations.


You may stack up to 5 add-ons in one go (all add-ons will be activated together and expire on the same date) or choose to purchase the next when one runs out.

How do I check if my Device Plan roaming add-on is active or not?

Your complimentary roaming entitlement that comes with your Device Plan is automatically activated when you arrive at your supported travel destination. Simply access your phone settings to ensure Data Roaming and Mobile Data are enabled.


If you have purchased additional roaming add-ons: To check if your roaming add-on is active/inactive, you can go to your mobile dashboard on the StarHub App, select the service, and go to “Roaming”.  Note that the “Roaming” button only appears if you purchased a roaming add-on.

How do I deactivate roaming on Device Plan?

You can enjoy free roaming in supported destinations that are part of your chosen Device Plan. If you'd like to turn off roaming while you are overseas, you can go to your phone settings to disable your Data Roaming.

I'm currently using Device Plan. What should I do when I'm unable to use my data while roaming in overseas? 

Enjoy hassle-free roaming with Device Plan! If you're in a supported destination, you just need to turn on data roaming on your phone setting and you'll get connected automatically. Please refer to starhub.com/device-plan-roaming for the full list of destinations.


1. Check that your device’s data roam setting is turned on.
2. Check that your device’s APN setting is set as shwap.

Can I connect to any foreign network operator in the supported destinations on Device Plan to enjoy free data roaming?

No matter where you’re travelling to, you’ll always be able to connect instantly and start surfing when you land in supported destinations. Go to your phone settings to ensure Data Roaming and Mobile Data are enabled. Leave your network connection settings to Automatic, and you'll automatically connect with our preferred roaming operators to enjoy quality roaming experience.
